Performance Fitness Client Spotlight – Meet Beth L.

Beth L. is a prime example of the magic that can happen when you tweak your fitness program.

Now tweaking doesn’t mean having exercise ADD. You know hopping from modality to modality – doing the Barre method one month, doing Kickboxing the next, and pounding the pavement with your running shoes the month after that. Tweaking means looking at your program and what (if anything) may be missing and adding that element in. That’s exactly what Beth did when she joined Performance Fitness. She was already (and has continued) doing “cardio”, but wanted to add strength training to her program. Beth tried a Kettlebell class with me in May of 2013, and she’s been a wonderful addition to the wacky P. Fit community ever since.

Not only has Beth gotten stronger with Kettlebells, but she’s added muscle AND gotten leaner – down ten pounds and in a size smaller pants since she first started with us.

Time to meet Beth!

What inspires and motivates you to workout? Working out brings out the best in me; I feel great. There’s nothing like a great workout to make me feel like I’m on top of the world.

You were already fit when you started with us, what made you decide to join kettlebells? I wanted to incorporate more strength training.

Favorite Kettlebell Exercise? 2-handed swings, but I’d have to say that Kettlebells in general are my favorite exercise.

What fitness and/or weight loss results have you achieved since joining kettlebells? I’ve lost 10 pounds, added muscle [Note from Michelle: Beth’s arms and shoulders are JACKED], I’m in a size smaller pants, and I have less back pain.

What are your 3 big goals for the next 3-6 months?

  1. Snatch the 20 Kilo kettlebell
  2. Stay lean and maintain weight
  3. Continue strengthening my quads

Bacon or ice cream? Neither. Chocolate.

What would you tell someone who was thinking about joining Performance Fitness? You can find a lot of trainers and boot camps out there but a lot of them don’t know what they’re doing. You’ll not only work with smart and intelligent trainers, but they’ll also be highly motivational.

Did I really say that one of my goals was to snatch a 20kg or did Michelle make that up?
