It’s been proven time and time again that the exercise more/eat less approach to weight loss is a recipe for failure. That’s why at Performance Fitness, we approach Bryn Mawr weight loss a little differently.
Bryn Mawr Weight Loss Done Differently
Following the old model, usually one of two things happens:
- You train so hard that you work yourself into feverish hunger than only a trip to Five Guys can remedy.
- Or you cut back on calories until you starve yourself into…well, a feverish hunger that only a trip to Five Guys can remedy.
The Performance Fitness approach to weight a loss is built on the three R’s:
Resistance Training: By adding resistance training to your life, you build muscle. Building muscle not only boosts your metabolism (read: helps burn fat), but it also protects your bones.
Recovery: Resistance training does a body good, but you know what else does a body good? Recovery. What do you we mean by “recovery”? We mean rest, relax, and let your body recover from the training you put it through.
Real Food: And in between the resistance training and recovering, you want to eat real food. Real food is food that is unprocessed and in its natural form- think full fat dairy, fresh fruit and vegetables, and whole grains.
By focusing on the three R’s along with daily movement (dancing party, anyone?), you will create a sustainable journey towards weight loss!
