Client Spotlight – meet Michelle B.

Meet dedicated kettlebeller, Michelle B. She’s been working out with us at Performance Fitness for less than a year. She started with a goal to lose the baby weight – which she did! – and now values her increased strength and health. Michelle found that strength training, not endless cardio, and nutrition are the keys to her success. We think it also has to do with her dedication and being a badass!

How long have you lived in this area? 3.5 years.

Occupation: Speech language/pathology and now stay-at-home-mom

Kids: Two

Hobbies? exercise, outdoor activities, watching shows on Bravo (guilty pleasure TV)

Sports? played soccer in college

Favorite book: Werewolves

Favorite way to treat yourself: Watching reality TV or spending time alone (we’re sure all the moms out there can relate)

How long have you been training with Performance Fitness? 8 1/2 months

How did you hear about Performance Fitness? I saw an ad on Facebook for a summer special

What would you say is the single biggest reason why you decided to get help with your fitness? I had just had my second child, and I wanted to lose the baby weight.

What fitness and/or weight-loss results have you achieved since joining boot camp? I hit my goal weight of 120 lbs; I’m stronger, and I fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you hear Performance Fitness? Community

Must-have workout song:  Kori’s (fellow Bootcamper) mixes are the best

Coolest side-effect from working out? I am super-close to doing my first, unassisted pull up (when I started, I couldn’t even hang).

What inspires and motivates you? Feeling good in clothes. Also, being healthy and being good model for children

Bacon or ice cream? Ice cream

What are your big goals for the next 3-6 months?

  1. maintain weight

  3. get first pull up
  4. increase max push-ups

If someone asked you about Performance Fitness what do you tell them? It’s great! The instructions are great. Kettlebells helped me lose weight. Typically small classes, get lots of attention from instructions, Nice community. Don’t need to worry about being “trendy”. Accountability. People notice when you’re gone.
