4 reasons you’ve quit on your resolutions

A month or so ago, I talked about why I’m not setting goals in 2019. Instead I decided to work on a new habit every two weeks. I’m not anti-goal setting, I just wasn’t in the frame of mind to set goals this year.

Maybe you did set goals or resolutions or intentions this year.

The truth is that by now, more than 90% of people who entered 2019 with strong intentions to achieve New Years Resolutions have already quit.

I hope you’re not one of them. But if you are, NO judgement here!

In fact, only around 5% of people who ever set a significant goal actually achieve it.

It’s sad, but true.

So if this is sounding familiar to you right now when it comes to your health and fitness, keep reading.

Here are 4 reasons you may have fallen off the wagon already:

  1. You don’t have a coach or you’re not using your coach to his or her fullest potential. This is the #1 most important component of your success. Without a coach to show you the way to the result you desire, you will struggle, which leads to giving up and feeling more hopeless and frustrated than before.
  2. You don’t have a real plan. Trying random tactics and following your friend’s advice or an article you read in a magazine isn’t a plan. If you want long-term success, get on a proven plan and stop guessing because you aren’t going to stay motivated if you’re not seeing results.
  3. You’re not tracking your progress correctly (if at all). There’s way more to progress in health and fitness than the scale, measurements, and body fat percentage! Track the number of push-ups you can do or the weights you use during your strength sessions. You’re probably making a lot more progress than you think.
  4. It’s just not a priority for you right now. Sorry, but it needs to be said. I’m guilty of this myself – the laundry that doesn’t get put away, the dishes that sit in the sink overnight, the workout that gets skipped. When we’re real with ourselves we know that we’re making other, sometimes unnecessary things, a priority. When we push those other things to the back burner, very little can stop us from getting the things we want to get done accomplished.

So, I’d love to hear how YOU’RE doing with your fitness-related goals, resolutions, intentions, whatever you’re calling them.

I hope you are absolutely crushing it!
