Joann Fegley
With an MS in Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology and certifications from ACE and AFPA, trainer Joann Fegley has a keen eye for detail when it comes to exercise selection and form.
She’s been called “the silent killer” more than once, because her workouts may seem easy at first glance, but are truly challenging once you get into them. But don’t worry, she’ll always make sure you’re doing every exercise safely and to the best of your ability.
Joann is a Dragon Boat coach for the Schuylkill Dragons, a women’s dragon boat team with members from the greater Philadelphia area. As a coach Joann has led her team in competitions around the world and is constantly inspired by her teammates.
Joann says, “a big inspiration is one of my friends who works for Team Canada…she helped to inspire me to be a coach and an exercise physiologist and introduced me to the writings and research of Tudor Bompa (periodization of workouts).
When Joann isn’t lifting, training, or coaching Dragon Boat she love spending time outside and hanging out with her wife, Megan, and their three fur-kids Kali (a Pitbull/Sheppard mix), Otis (an American Staffordshire Terrier mix) and Ozzy – (an Orange tabby).
Oh, and when it comes to the “bacon or ice cream” debate, Joann says “BOTH! My Niece recently made Maple Bacon Ice Cream and it was Amazing!” We think we need to invite your niece and her ice cream to Performance Fitness, Joann.
